The concept of camouflage for military use has been around long before guns were invented, in fact we can see examples of early camouflage designs dating all the way back to ancient times. However, it is proper implementation only saw mass scale use at the start of world war 1, where brightly colored uniforms were ditched in exchange for a standard camouflaged uniform which could blend in with the environment.
Today PSF will be presenting an illustration of the modern camouflage patterns used by Pakistan military branches and other paramilitary forces.
- Pakistan Army
First appeared in late 2012, army uses a semi-pixelated arid/desert pattern camouflage.
- Pakistan Air Force
PAF adopted the new digital tiger pattern camouflage in 2016.
- Pakistan Navy
First appeared in 2018, navy uses the standard pixelated Black/Grey pattern camouflage.
- Frontier Corps KPK
FC KPK adopted a pixelated camouflage design incorporating green, black, brown khaki pattern.
- FC Baluchistan
FC Baluchistan uses tri-color desert pattern, issued in late 1990s.
- Punjab Rangers
Punjab Rangers adopted similar pattern as FC KPK.
- Sindh Rangers
Sindh Rangers use digital desert pattern camouflage.
- Strategic Plans Division
SPD uses digital woodland pattern design camouflage inspired by USMC MRPAT.
- Pakistan Coast Guard
PCG uses pixelated camouflage pattern incorporating black shades of brown and tan.
- Airport Security Force
ASF uses pixelated dark scheme which consists of black, blue & grey pattern camo design.
- Anti-Narcotics Force
ANF uses tri-color desert pattern camo known as coffee stain camo
Note: Special operation forces or other such units are not included, they will be covered separately.
